December 21: Experience or Revelation

Dear Jesus, Today's lesson reminds me of so many examples of people basing their faith on their past experiences. Perhaps their church had a wonderful revival where many people spent hours praying, and now that the long prayers have stopped, they think that You are no longer in their midst. I could give hundreds of examples like this. Please teach all of the children of my heart that You can never be put in a box and expected to perform like a trained monkey in exactly the same way every time just so they can re-experience their memorable spiritual moment. And praise God that You are more creative than that!! Never let us forget that no matter what the circumstance, it is You that we seek!!!

• We seek the Healer, not the healing
• We seek the Savior, not salvation
• We seek the Prince of Peace, not resolution from conflict
• We seek the Provider, not provisions
• We seek the Lover of our Souls, not random love
• We seek the Comforter, not comfort for our pain
• We seek the Creator, not new situations
• We seek the Eternal One, not eternal life
• We seek the Almighty, not power
• We seek the Shepherd, not direction
• We seek the Protecter, not protection

Help us always to seek You!!!
