Today in My Utmost for His Highest: http://www.myutmost.org/02/0228.html. Today's lesson tells "why a saint can be easily ridiculed." Do you think this is why it is so hard to choose to be totally sold out to Jesus?

February 27: Impoverished Ministry of Jesus
Today in My Utmost for His Highest: http://www.myutmost.org/02/0227.html Let us choose this day to meditate on the profound truth that Jesus Christ is Almighty!!
February 26: Inferior Misgivings about Jesus
Today in My Utmost for His Highest: http://www.myutmost.org/02/0226.html God forbid that we should allow ourselves to think that His almighty power cannot work apart from our finite understanding of it. We must choose to belive in His wits apart from our own!!

February 25: The Destitution of Service
Today in My Utmost for His Highest: http://www.myutmost.org/02/0225.html Loving with all our hearts and NEVER expecting anything in return..... That's just not natural!! Yet to allow yourself to become that kind of vulnerable is to open the floodgates of peace and joy!

February 24: The Delight of Sacrifice
Today in My Utmost for His Highest: http://www.myutmost.org/02/0224.html Are we actually "abandoned to Jesus?" One way to judge the our response is to ask ourselves if "we have no ends of our own to serve." Is sacrifice really a delight?

February 23: The Determination to Serve
Today in My Utmost for His Highest: http://www.myutmost.org/02/0223.html Reading the statements of today's lesson goes against everything in our human nature. That is why, although the following statement is 100% true, you will have to determine to act upon it before you can perceive its truth: Choosing to minister to others instead of being ministered unto is the only way to unconquerable happiness.

February 22: The Discipline of Spiritual Tenacity
Today in My Utmost for His Highest: http://www.myutmost.org/02/0222.html I have walked with Jesus long enough to know without a shadow of a doubt that His plan will win. If you are still struggling with doubts so that it's hard to be spritually tenacious, remember this saying: Faith is not belief without proof but trust without reservations!!

February 21: Have You Ever Been Carried Away for Him?
Today in My Utmost for His Highest: http://www.myutmost.org/02/0221.html "When we are abandoned to God, He works through us all the time." It's just that it is scary to first abandon - to let everything go. But I highly recommend taking the risk; it is the most addictive feeling in the world!!

February 20: The Initiative Against Dreaming
Today in My Utmost for His Highest: http://www.myutmost.org/02/0220.html Actually, this has nothing to do with today's reading, but I've just got to share. I'm reading the Bible this year out of Eugune Peterson's paraphrase, The Message. He writes some very interesting introductions to each chapter. In the intro to I and II Samuel, he lists the main characters, Hannah, Samuel, Saul and David, and states, "God is the country in which they live." I just LOVE that!!!

February 19: The Initiative Against Drudgery
Today in My Utmost for His Highest: http://www.myutmost.org/02/0219.html Once again, I DETERMINE to look for "the inspiration of God to go through drudgery with the light of God upon it." It will take the inspiration of God to get me to like housework!!

February 18: The Initiative Against Despair
Today in My Utmost for His Highest: http://www.myutmost.org/02/0218.html "Whenever we realize that we have not done that which we had a magnificent opportunity of doing, then we are apt to sink into despair..." I hope someone shows this to Lindsey Jacobellis because yesterday she lost the Olympic Gold Medal in the Snowboardcross due to her showing off at the end of the race.

February 17: The Initiative Against Depression
Today in My Utmost for His Highest: http://www.myutmost.org/02/0217.html I used to have a lot of problems with depression. I learned two things that helped a lot: (1) it is the ultimate in self-pity and (2) one must ask the Lord's help on every decision and CHOOSE to keep on living.

February 16: The Inspiration of Spiritual Initiative
Today in My Utmost for His Highest: http://www.myutmost.org/02/0216.html I don't know about you, but I am often afraid to go after a vision because I lack the willpower to try to overcome. That is such lack of faith in God!!!

February 15: Am I My Brother's Keeper?
Today in My Utmost for His Highest: http://www.myutmost.org/02/0215.html. I don't know about you, but I hate thinking that my "physical selfishness or mental slovenliness" has anything to do with my relationship with Jesus. It hurts to think that my laziness makes "everyone about me suffer."

February 14: The Discipline of Heeding
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!! Today in My Utmost for His Highest: http://www.myutmost.org/02/0214/html. "What I tell you in darkness....." Oh my, how we hate being in the darkness. Yet today's lesson shows us what incredible value there is in that confused state.

February 13: The Devotion of Hearing
Today in My Utmost for His Highest: http://www.myutmost.org/02/0213.html It is so easy for life to distract us from being attentive to God. I pray that we all will determine to listen for God's voice as though our very lives depend upon it.

February 12: Must I Listen?
Today in My utmost for His Highest: http://www.myutmost.org/02/0212.html How horrifying but how true!! We often prefer to listen to people tell us things about God instead of listen to God Himself, because if we don't like what we hear, we can discredit the insight with human fallibility. If we hear the instruction directly from God, we either must obey or tell God we will not obey Him. God forgive us!!
February 11: Is Your Hope in God Faint and Dying?

Today in My Utmost For His Highest: http://www.myutmost.org/02/0209.html
February 8: INSTANTANEOUS AND INSISTENT SANCTIFICATION
Today in My Utmost for His Highest: http://www.myutmost.org/02/0208/html.
February 7: THE DISCIPLINE OF DEJECTION
Today in My Utmost for His Highest: http://www.myutmost.org/02/0207.html

February 5: Are You Ready To Be Offered?
Today in My Utmost for His Highest: http://www.myutmost.org/02/0205.html Wow! This devotion is perfect for a decision I have to make in the next week or so. Am I going to let God choose my work? Am I willing to spend and be spent?

February 4: The Overmastering Majesty of Personal Power
Today in My Utmost for His Highest: http://www.myutmost.org/02/0204.html Yesterday, I was asked to take a job that scares me to death, yet I am wondering if this is a door that God has opened. Do I really love Jesus as much as I profess, enough so that "the love of Christ constraineth me" to look past my fear and go in faith??? Please pray for me to make the right decision.

February 3: The Recognized Ban of Relationship
Today in My Utmost for His Highest: http://www.myutmost.org/02/0203.html The people who want to be "saved by the skin of their teeth" have no desire to have Jesus as Lord, but are only interested in 'fire insurance' from hell. They are an embarrassment to Christ.

February 2: The Constraint of the Call
Today in My Utmost for His Highest: http://www.myutmost.org/02/0202.html Hmmmm..... Today's lesson raises the question: Is it possible to choose to accept Jesus as one's Savior and still reject him as one's Lord (the boss of Life)? Or do the two come as a package deal -- all or nothing?

February 1: The Call of God
Today in My Utmost for His Highest: http://www.myutmost.org/02/0201.html How much happier all Christians would be if we would focus on God only and not on ourselves. Why do we find it so hard to quit preaching salvation or sanctification and just start lifting up Jesus!
