November 15: What is That to Thee?
Today's Reading: http://www.myutmost.org/11/1115.html
Dear Jesus, I cannot pray for others today until I first pray for myself. Please remove the log from my eye before I pray that the speck be removed from theirs. Forgive me for the many times that I am so upset by the pain in a person's life that I try to force them to change or I try to just remove the source of their pain myself. All of that is Your job; I am certainly not qualified to be God! Please stab my conscience when I start to do this and remind me that my job is to PRAY!
Please assure the children of my heart that each difficulty of their life is under Your administration and that You will never allow anything to happen that does not have the potential to make them stronger and closer to You. May the hardships of their lives impress upon them the critical need for prayer, both for themselves and for others.
Help us all to use our adversities to focus our lives on You so that we will "be so rightly related to You that Your discerment comes through us all the time for the blessing of another soul." Help us to reach the place where "we become so abandoned to God that the consciousness of being used never enters in," and we are only consciously dependent upon You!
