October 1: The Sphere of Exaltation
Chambers bases today's reading on the account of the Mount of Transfiguration where Jesus changed into His spiritual body before Peter, James and John. Let me share a powerful discovery regarding this.
Remember the familiar verse, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." Hebrews 13:8. Most Christians think that refers to His spiritual character or diety. It also refers to His amazingly powerful physical attributes! Note the similarity of the following passages:
YESTERDAY - (Before Jesus was born of a virgin) "I looked up and there before me was a man dressed in linen, with a belt of the finest gold around his waist. His body was like chrysolite, his face like lightning, his eyes like flaming torches, his arms and legs like the gleam of burnished bronze, and his voice like the sound of a multitude...." Daniel 10:4-6.
TODAY - (While Jesus walked on this earth) "There He was transfigured before them. His face shown like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light..." Matthew 17:2.
FOREVER - (After Jesus was resurrected and ascended into heaven) "I [John] turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me...someone 'like a sone of man,' dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest. His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters. In his right hand he held seven stars, and out of his mouth came a sharp double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance. When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead..." Revelation 1:12-17.

Jesus, thank You for being so powerful that we can always put our trust in You. Remind us that as long as we choose to be on Your side that You, in all that might and power, stand in front of us to protect us from evil. However, if we choose to disobey You, we join a battle against You, and we will have to face the terror of Your blazing eyes and double-edged sword. Please give us the wisdom to always be on Your side!!
