November 20: The Forgiveness of God

Today's Reading: http://www.myutmost.org/11/1120.html

Dear Jesus, It is well known that the best way to truly comprehend a truth is to know it well enough to teach it. I pray that all the children of my heart will come to concretely grasp the truths that Chambers explains in today's devotion, because they will often be asked the question of why a loving God ever allows anyone to go to hell. This is one of the major roadblocks for non-believers.

Therefore, Lord, please settle firmly in all their minds that "the only ground on which God can forgive us is the tremendous tragedy of Your death on the Cross; to put forgiveness on any other ground is unconscious blasphemy!" Most Christians don't seem to even come close to understanding Your Holiness. Help us all, in spite of the limitations of our finite minds, to more fully absorb the fact that God Almighty simply is too holy to be in the presence of sin; that "He CANNOT forgive for He would contradict His nature if He did.... The only way we CAN be forgiven is by being brought back to God by the Atonement."

Satan will fight this revelation by throwing all kinds of arguments into their minds. Please, Jesus, let Your forces win this spiritual warfare and allow Your Truth to blast away all the lies so they shall know the Truth and the Truth shall set them free! When they possess this concept, it will be a joy to watch their sanctification, which "is simply the marvelous expression of the forgiveness of sins in a human life."
