October 31: Discernment of Faith

Have you ever wondered why it is that shortly after you commit your whole life to God that things in your life seem to start going wrong? Well, you aren't alone in feeling like that. This is just what Chambers is addressing in his lesson today. Yet if you determine to stand by faith against the onslaught, you will find that you will be "worth far more to Him now than you were in your days of conscious delight and thrilling testimony." Trust me, those words are ever so true!!

Dear Jesus, please help the children of my heart to put on that spiritual armor that Paul speaks of in Ephesians 6:10-18 (http://bible.gospelcom.net/passage/?search=Ephesians%206:10-18;&version=65;76;77;), and having done all to stand, STAND!! Help them to realize deep in their souls that faith is not belief without proof, but trust without reservations!! Even when all visible evidence seems to say otherwise, help them to cling to the sure knowledge that You are totally trustworthy!! Oh Lord, I can't wait to see what wonderfully strong people that they will become as You forge them in Your refining fires. They will make the Marines seem like wimps!!
