September 7: Springs of Benignity

"Benignity"?? I had to look that one up. It means "1. Kindliness; beneficence. 2. A gracious action or influence. Synonyms BENEVOLENCE, MERCY."

That sounds like something that the world is in very short supply of right now and is another powerful reason for us to discipline ourselves to keep in touch with Jesus every day. I learned a long time ago that it is imperative that I have my quiet time with the Lord before I go substitute teach so that I can keep calm and show them agape love. I don't much like it that I have to get up at 5:30 am to do that, but if I want to be a "spring of water welling up to eternal life" to those kids, then that is what I must do.

Jesus, I feel a strong need to pray for the children of my heart as they start their new school years. Of course they will be busy with many worthy opportunities of study, service, and friendship. My prayer is that they will find a time each day to spend with You, their Best Friend, so that their lives will radiate You peace and love throughout each day. They are all such wonderful people! Bless them today and always!!
