Obedience. It seems rational to us that if we obey God MOST of the time, He won't mind too much the times when we disobey. But Chambers is so right when he says, "Woe be to me if when I see Him I say -- I will not. He will never insist that I do, but I have begun to sign the death warrant of the Son of God in my soul. ...I am backing away from the re-creating power of His Redemption."

Hmmm. This lesson points us to the fact that it is not our human capabilites that ever draw people to Jesus, therefore we shouldn't lean upon our talents or dispair our failings. If we totally focu on Jesus, He will do all the work!

If you suffer from fear at all, pay special attention to this reading. I am frequently asked why I am not afraid. It is because I have PRACTICED trusting God and have found Him to be faithful every single time. "Notion your mind with the idea that God is there...then when you are in difficulties it is a s easy as breathing to remember - Why, my Father knows all about it!"

Always before when I have read this lesson, I have focused on the fact that "every time I insist upon my rights, I hurt the Son of God." Today, however, another point seemed to jump off the page: "You cannot imitate the disposition of Jesus; it is either there or it is not." May God help us all be more like our Jesus!
